Ash, Salon Manager/Creative Director

MOB Hair Salon Manager, Ash Collins, is an award winning, internationally-acclaimed hair stylist with experience spanning nearly two decades. Ash discovered her passion for hairdressing as a “tea and tidy” in her mother’s Townsville salon, a passion that is still so evident today.

 

For Ash, hairdressing is about much more than hair, she believes it’s a psychological makeover, “The new hair is just an expression on how the client is feeling on the inside,” she explains. And she says, seeing her clients leave the salon feeling better than when they arrived, is most satisfying.

 

Ash’s clients love that she’s always honest about what is possible and takes the time to explain the best approach to achieving a desired look. There’s always plenty of laughter too!

 

When Ash isn’t in the salon, she enjoys being active and spending time with friends.

 

Ash’s Top Tip: Never use any heat on your hair without heat protection. Heat damage is irreversible and leaves a “scar” on the hair, which will cause breakage

 

Jez, Master Stylist and Colourist

Jez commenced his career in hairdressing a decade ago, having completed his apprenticeship in Paris.

​

Jez loves the endless opportunities hairdressing presents for creativity, art and education, but his favourite thing is making people feel happy and beautiful. “It’s something that truly feeds my soul when someone looks in the mirror and you see them light up inside and experience self-love.”

​

Organised and optimistic, Jez says there’s always a creative solution to a problem, and he loves searching for it.

 

Jez's Top Tip: Brush your hair before each shampoo and don’t wash your hair more than twice a week. For vibrant and shiny hair, do a weekly deep conditioning treatment, and never use heat on your hair without heat protection.

 

Gwen, Master Stylist and Colourist

Inspired to pursue a career in hairdressing from a young age, Gwen was just six when she attempted to recreate a style she had seen at her mother’s hair appointment using kitchen scissors.

 

Gwen remains just as passionate as her six-year-old self, and loves that every day, every person and every head of hair is different.

 

Honest, energetic and bubbly, Gwen is your go to for low maintenance and lived-in colour.

 

When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find Gwen spending time at the beach or out with friends.

 

Gwen's Top Tip: If you’re time poor, apply your hair treatments on errand day, so you can leave it in all day.

 

Dana, Customer experience manager

Dana’s passion is ensuring every MOB Hair client feels welcome, nurtured and the holistic experience exceeds expectations.

​

Feeling organised and efficient makes Dana happy and enables her to achieve her goals.

​

On her down time you will find Dana pounding the pavement, at the gym or out lunching with friends.

Danielle, Master Stylist and Colourist

When Danielle was just 14 and still at school, she was given the opportunity to work in a hair salon. It was this experience that reaffirmed the MOB Hair Stylist and Colourist’s passion for hair, and cemented her desire to complete a hairdressing apprenticeship.

​

Now, more than a decade later, Danielle loves the creative outlet of hairdressing, and the fact that she gets to meet new people on a daily basis.

​

While Danielle’s a talented allrounder and strong in all aspects of hairdressing, she loves working with colour, “I find I can be most creative in transforming a client’s look.”

​

After a busy week in the salon, Danielle like to relax and unwind with a glass of wine.
